Companies that collect data on citizens in European Union (EU) countries will need to comply with strict new rules around protecting customer data by 25 May 2018. This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use and share information when you contact us, or purchase our products via our host Wix.com, or their related sites and services. 

This Privacy Policy does not apply to other websites that we use to conduct business and provide our products, including our website host Wix.com, PayPal, Worldpay, MailChimp, eBay, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter. Who we are 

At The Little Home Shop, we are dedicated to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our website. We want you to know that The Little Home Shop does not trade, rent or sell email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. In this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. 

Controller 

The Little Home Shop is the data controller and we are responsible for your personal information. In this privacy policy The Little Home Shop is referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”. 

What we do with your information 

We only use the information provided to us to fulfil your order or, with your permission, to keep in touch with you with The Little Home Shop news including special discounts and our local market stall dates.

The Little Home Shop website and store is hosted by Wix. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Cookies are implemented in every site built by Wix. 

Session (Transient) cookies: these cookies are erased when you close your browser, and do not collect information from your computer. They typically store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user. 

Persistent (Permanent/Stored) cookies: these cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire (i.e. based on a set expiration date) or until you delete them. Mailing lists 

If you choose to sign up to our emails, we collect the personal information that you provide to us. We use that information to tell you about our products; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We do not rent or trade email lists with other business and organisations. 

We use a third-party provider called MailChimp to deliver our emails. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our emails. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by contacting us using the contact information at the bottom of this privacy policy. 

Purchases 

When you purchase a product(s) from us and agree to the terms and conditions during the check-out process, an agreement is formed between you and The Little Home Shop. 

To carry out our responsibilities under that agreement we must process the information you provide to us. Some of this data may be personal to you. 

When you purchase a product(s) from The Little Home Shop online; your name, address data, email and contact number will be stored in our online store and will be sent to our email address to allow us to complete your order. You may, of course, purchase products in person at one of our market stalls without supplying the above-mentioned personal data. Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your consent. 

Payments:

Payment information is never taken by us or transferred to us either through our website or otherwise.

  

Payment via Direct Payment Gateway: 

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase (i.e. pay using a debit or credit card), then Worldpay collects your debit or credit card data. It is fully encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your transaction data is only stored for as long as is required to complete your purchase transaction. Once the transaction is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. 

All direct payment gateways comply with the standards set by PCI-DSS managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a combined effort of card payment organisations like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. 

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of debit/credit card information by our store and its service providers. 

PayPal Payments: 

At the point of payment, you are transferred to a secure page on the website of PayPal. The webpage may be branded to look like our site, but it is not controlled by us. 

Information that you provide to us 

Specific uses of the information that you provide to us. 

Information you provide on the understanding that it will be shared with a third party on social media: 

Posts made on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social media pages on pages administered by us allows you to post information that can be read, copied, downloaded, or used by other people. 

Examples include, but are not limited to, posting a message our Facebook page, tagging an image or post, or clicking on an icon next to another visitor’s message to convey your agreement or disagreement. 

When you post personal information, it is up to you to appease yourself about the privacy level of every person who might see it and/or react to it. 

We do not use the information you post except to allow it to be displayed or shared. 

As soon as the information you post enters the public domain, we have no control over what any individual third party may do with it. We accept no responsibility for their actions in relation to the information that you post. 

If your request is reasonable and there is no legal basis for us to keep it, we may agree to delete personal information that you have posted. You may make this request using the contact info at the bottom of this privacy policy. 

Complaints regarding content on our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social media platforms: 

We try to moderate user created content, sometimes we are unable to do so as soon as that content is published. 

If you complain about any of the content on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social media platforms, we shall investigate your complaint. 

If we feel the complaint is valid or if we believe the law requires us to do so, we shall remove the content while we investigate. 

Freedom of speech is an important right, we will make a judgment as to whose right will be obstructed: yours, or that of the person who posted the content that has caused offence. 

If we think your complaint is without any basis, we shall let you know. 

Security 

No one else has access to our business computer. Access to all the services we use to support our business are pin and password protected and no paper documents with your personal information on them are stored at our place of business. 

Third parties 

In general, the third-party service providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services that they provide to us. Generally, this means completing the transaction when you purchase from our website or from our store or listings on eBay. 

Certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. 

For these service providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies, so you can understand how your personal information will be handled by them. 

Certain providers may be in or have facilities that are based in a different authority than you or us. If you continue with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party provider, your information may become subject to the laws of the authority(ies) in which that provider or its facilities are situated. 

When you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service. 

Transferring personal data outside of the European Union 

The Little Home Shop is based in the UK within the EU. We may store, process and share your information through third party hosting services such as Wix.com, PayPal, Worldpay and eBay but it will only be to complete the transaction when you order products from us. The third-party hosting services may be based outside of the EU, we are not responsible for their Privacy Polices, Data Protection and Transfer Systems. Your rights in relation the personal data that we hold

Access. You have the right to access and to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the contact information below. 

Change, restrict and delete. You have the right to change, restrict our use of, or delete your personal information unless we are required to store data for legal reasons. We will delete your personal information upon request. 

Object. You may object to 1) us processing your information based on our legitimate interests and 2) receiving marketing messages from us after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, we will delete your personal information unless it is needed for legal reasons. 

Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about our use of your information (without prejudice to any other rights you have), you have the right to do so with your local data Protection Authority. 

Users of our website under the age of 18 

We do not sell products for purchase by children and we do not market to children. If you are under 18, you may use our website with consent from a parent or guardian. Ultimately it is your choice as to whether you use our website. 

Changes to this privacy policy 

We may make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes to our site.
